Kataragama Kiri Vehera (S)

Kataragama Kiri Vehera (S) is another place that the Buddha visited and used for meditation during his third journey. Similar to Anuradhapura, Kataragama is also one of the first village settlements that King Vijaya’s ministers established. Behind Kiri Vehera Stupa, there is a sacred bodhi tree, which is one of the eight first offspring produced by the Sri Maha Bodhi.
