Chime Karmo taktsang

Among the four valleys, the hidden valley of Meshö At the foot of Mount Ziltrom is supreme. Within the palace of the three worldly deities Lies the Deathless White Tigress Lair of Rongmé.

at a glance

In his wrathful form of Dorjé Drolö, Guru Rinpoche flew far to the east of the Himalayan plateau, to the sacred site that became known as Chimé Karmo Taktsang (Deathless White Tigress Lair). By remaining for one month in the samadhi of vajra wrath, the Mahaguru subjugated evil spirits, sanctified the land and hid most profound terma treasures.

the story

As a result of successfully accomplishing the practice of Vajrakilaya at Önphu Tatsang, Guru Rinpoche, along with his disciples, assumed the fiercely wrathful form of Guru Dorjé Drolö.

Absorbed in this profound meditative state, the Mahaguru and his consorts emanated the wrathful form known as Blood-Red Vajrakilaya, dispatching it to Karmo Taksang. There, this powerful manifestation subdued and vanquished the gods, demons, and spirits that were besieging Kham, Jang, China, Hor, and other more distant lands. By binding them to unbreakable oaths, this wrathful manifestation deprived them of their life force, effectively eliminating all malevolent spirits and creating a fertile ground for the Dharma to spread and be maintained in the far eastern reaches of the Himalayan plateau.

Subsequently, it was at Karmo Taktsang that Guru Rinpoche chose to hide a most profound treasure, the Lamrim Yeshé Nyingpo (The Gradual Path of the Wisdom Essence), a complete and unparalleled presentation of the Vajrayana path.
